The theme in Art class we are working on is “Fairytales be horrified”. We did “Readers Theatre” during drama class. We worked in groups and read to each other a part of the story “mrs Peregrine and the children’s home”. This story is made into a film, you can see it in the cinema right now! The part we read for each other was about a creepy stairway and desolated rooms in an abandoned children’s home.
During the double hour we created a drawing from a random person in grey black and whites. This portrait was supposed to hang on a wall in the house of mrs Peregrine. After the painting and drawing we added another layer of see through paper to add elements of erosion and decay. The effect should be that the portraits are hair raising, scary and suspicious . We made holes and cuts in the drawing with knives and later on while using the cuts we burned parts of the drawing away.
